On Saturday, September 27, 2025, the inaugural「Enoen Matsuri Festival」will take place at Shikanjima Sumiyoshi Shrine in Osaka’s Konohana Ward. The first such street art celebration to take place in Japan. The event is open to everyone — with free admission.
This new Matsuri (Festival) will bring together residents of the area and visitors for a vibrant celebration of murals with Live Music Performances, Plenty of local food stands and Family-Friendly Activities. Enoen Matsuri came out following an international art project MURAL TOWN KONOHANA, supported by FUJIFILM instax™. This initiative aims to create new ways for people to interact with art in Japan’s urban spaces.
Enoen Matsuri is opening dialogue between murals, artists, local community, art lovers and visitors. Art is a beautiful way to bring people together, fostering connections and cross-cultural understanding, and positively impacts communities. This one-day festival is running by Konohana Festival Organizing Committee as a celebration for the inauguration of murals made during the residency of international artists at MURAL TOWN KONOHANA.
MURAL TOWN KONOHANA is an outdoor museum with vibrant and colossal murals, a unique hotspot for street art in Japan, jointly developed by WALL SHARE and FUJIFILM instax™. This time, five artists visiting Japan from Brazil, Spain, the United States, and Cambodia will bring new outdoor artworks in Konohana.

The murals lineup features world-renowned artists, such as SPETO, a legendary figure in the Brazilian urban contemporary art scene, and Lula Goce (Spain), member of the raw street art collective of Barcelona. Since 2023, artists from all around the world have been welcomed to Osaka through this ongoing Art Project. With these upcoming murals at MURAL TOWN KONOHANA, the Konohana district will showcase a total of 30 murals (created by artists from more than 20 countries).
On September 27, live music performances will also take place with Keizo Machine! (music maker for Osaka Expo), Hitoshi Kiyomura (sanshin maker), Miyako folk music teacher, Masayo Yonesu (Ryukyu classical music instructor), Keyco (neo-soul/reggae singer), and Konohana-based musicians Hachikai and Katsumi Ueoka.
Shikanshima Sumiyoshi Shrine
The murals will be created over the course of a week in the Baika district of Konohana Ward, near Shikanjima Sumiyoshi Shrine. The week-long mural-making process will be fully open for the public to observe.
