Colour speaks louder than words. POSCA is taking its creative philosophy beyond the canvas — transforming walls into global stages for artistic exchange.

Mitsubishi Pencil Australia Pty Ltd. announces the launch of a new international mural project, the “POSCA Mural Exchange Program,” starting on October 16, 2025.

The global brand POSCA, developed by Mitsubishi Pencil, will collaborate with Juddy Roller, a Melbourne-based street art collective with over 15 years of experience, and WALL SHARE Inc. (Head Office: Konohana-ku, Osaka; CEO: Takanobu Kawazoe), an Osaka-based company specializing in mural-centered art projects.

Through the expressive medium of mural art — one of the most iconic forms of street art — POSCA aims to share its founding philosophy of “the joy of creative expression” with the world.

Bringing the DNA of Street Art to the World Through Murals

The POSCA Mural Exchange Program is an unprecedented brand collaboration in which Japanese and Australian artists — both long-time POSCA users — will travel to each other’s countries to create murals under a shared theme.

Using street art as a universal language, the project connects brand and art to open up new possibilities for creative expression across borders.

Since its debut in the 1980s, POSCA has been deeply rooted in street art and graffiti culture.

For decades, artists have pulled POSCA markers from their pockets to transform city walls into canvases, expressing their voices and messages freely.

Now, POSCA reinterprets this cultural DNA through the lens of contemporary mural culture — returning to its roots while engaging in a new form of global brand action that uses art to foster dialogue across cultures.

Melbourne × Osaka — Two Cities, One Creative Vision

The project unfolds in two cities renowned for their vibrant mural scenes: Melbourne, Australia, and Osaka, Japan.

In Osaka’s Konohana district, the home base of WALL SHARE, over 30 murals by artists from 20 countries have already been completed — transforming the area into MURAL TOWN KONOHANA a creative hub that attracts artists from around the world.

In Australia, Juddy Roller joins as a key production partner, managing wall negotiations, artist coordination, and on-site support — powerfully linking the two countries through art and collaboration.
